With a password set, your data inside the file is encrypted with AES-256-GCM and a PBKDF2-derived key (310k iterations). Anyone opening the file without the password sees ciphertext only. There is no way to recover the data if you forget the password.
⚠️ When hosting on a server: this protects the data, but it does not stop anyone from downloading the page itself. For full access control add server-side authentication too (Basic Auth / .htpasswd on Apache, or auth_basic on Nginx).
